A manmade archipelago off the shores of Deira, Dubai Islands is a work in progress that will eventually cover 17sqkm across five isles. Visitors cannot miss a foray into Souk Al Marfa, a modern indoor Arabian bazaar with shops, pavilions and waterfront restaurants. Set to include up to 7,000 outlets once complete, it's touted to become the world’s largest wholesale market.

Currently under construction, the island’s main marvel will be Deira Central, a remarkable destination for retail, entertainment and living, while the upcoming Deira Mall is set to become one of the city’s biggest shopping centres.

On the island itself is Dubai Islands Beach, where you can play a range of watersports or simply relax by the beach.
